Known for her practical and strategic approach to complex municipal and operational issues, Attorney Scott regularly assists clients navigating zoning disputes, permitting concerns, business licensing issues, occupancy matters, development-related challenges, and code enforcement proceedings that can impact business operations, property use, and project timelines.

Government and Private Practice Experience

Before founding The Scott Law Firm, Attorney Scott represented clients as a senior associate in complex real estate and business matters at Williams Teusink. Earlier in her career, she served as an Assistant Solicitor General in both Fulton and DeKalb Counties.

In DeKalb County, she served as a Deputy Chief Assistant Solicitor General, where she led successful prosecutions involving land use, zoning, code enforcement, and related municipal matters.

Her background provides valuable insight into how local governments evaluate compliance, enforcement, operational, and property-related issues, allowing her to guide clients through matters that require judgment, precision, and practical strategy.

Education, Recognition, and Leadership

Attorney Scott earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Georgia before obtaining her Juris Doctor from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School.

Her professional accomplishments and leadership have been recognized through numerous honors and leadership selections, including the Rising Star Award from the New Rock Legal Society and the Michael Hancock Award from the DeKalb Lawyers Association.

Community and Professional Service

Attorney Scott remains actively involved in the legal and local community through organizations including the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys and the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers, where she currently serves in leadership roles.

She also serves on the board of More Than Conquerors, Incorporated and is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

Outside of the practice of law, Attorney Scott is a devoted wife and proud mother of two daughters. Her approach to both her practice and her community involvement reflects the same principles that guide her representation of clients: preparation, advocacy, responsiveness, and a commitment to achieving practical, real-world results.
